Data the app stores

The app keeps downloaded public catalogue data, saved objects, learning progress and app preferences on your device. Orbitarium does not upload these as user data. They are removed when you delete the app.

Location

If you grant permission, Orbitarium uses your location on device to place sky objects for your observing site. Orbitarium does not store your location in a user account or use it for tracking.

Optional location-based requests

Weather and confirmed-small-body requests are separate features. A weather request sends a rounded observing location to the named weather provider only when you choose to retrieve that forecast.

If you opt in to confirmed-small-body mode, Orbitarium sends your rounded observer latitude, longitude and altitude, together with the requested epoch, to NASA/JPL Horizons. Your consent record is stored only on your device. You can revoke consent from the Live Sky provenance/source panel; revocation stops further confirmed-small-body requests and clears the small-body results already loaded in the app.

Network requests

Orbitarium downloads release-controlled public catalogue data from its read-only Cloudflare/R2 service. Features that you choose to refresh or open may also request current public astronomy, imagery or weather data from the scientific provider named in the app, including NASA/JPL, NASA/IPAC, CDS Strasbourg, ESA and MET Norway services. These providers may process standard network information such as an IP address and user agent for delivery, security and abuse prevention. Orbitarium does not use those logs to identify, profile or track you.

Sharing and retention

We do not sell personal data, share data for advertising, or build user profiles. Orbitarium has no cloud account or user-content database, so there is no personal cloud record to delete.
